Office and Commercial Spaces

Office and Commercial Spaces

At Accent Renovations we showcase a lot of our residential renovation projects but we also provide commercial renovation services as well. Recently we completed an office renovation for our friends at Hiilite, a web design and marketing agency in Kelowna. Below are some photos of the project, highlights (no pun intended) include removing the old depressing carpet to reveal beautiful rustic concrete floors, new ceiling tiles, and fresh paint using their bold brand colours. Using the existing concrete saved the client the cost of laying down new flooring, not to mention the look of the concrete floor was very fitting for their overall design.

We also worked on the renovations for Associated Contractors where we recently set up our headquarters. So if you’ve been considering updating your office or commercial space, here are some things to consider:

Budget
The first thing you need to think about is your budget. As a small business, you’re unlikely to have the money to turn your space into the Google offices. But you still might have the funds to do a full renovation if that’s what you want to do. You should work out how much you can afford to spend on the project and how much different things cost. Doing this will help you to work out the level of work you can have carried out and whether it’s the right time to renovate.

Scale
Renovating the office doesn’t have to mean gutting everything completely and giving it a whole new look. There are different approaches you can take, which will depend on the time and money you have available, as well as what you want. You might just wish to paint the walls and get some new furniture. On the other hand, you might want to transform everything.

Work Disruption
You’ll need to think about whether the renovation will affect the work in your office. Some companies will carry out the project in installments, so there’s always somewhere for your team to work. However, sometimes that isn’t possible, especially in a smaller office. You might be able to move to a temporary office, another option is having everyone work from home for a while or coinciding renovations with holidays.

Working with a Designer
An interior design company can help you make the most out of your office space. They can work with you to come up with something that reflects your brand and creates an excellent working environment for your employees. If you don’t know where to start with your renovations, finding the right designer to hire could be the best first step to take. They can handle everything, with your input, while you concentrate on other things. We work with an excellent interior designer – Paulette Facca of Creative Touch Interiors, also headquartered at Associated Contractors.
